It feels like I’ve been having far more conversations lately about accountability partners. In fact, no sooner had I written this blog on the topic, than another wave of discussions occurred. So, it got me wondering. How many of the folks in my community have (or have had) an accountability partner? And, if you haven’t, why not?

An accountability partner is a person who you've asked to help you reach your goal. I find that when the change that I'm trying to accomplish is a significant enough stretch for me that it's going to take more than just my self-discipline or some slick technological support (such as alarms on my phone, a productivity app, etc) to make it happen, it's time for me to find an accountability partner. But, that may just be me. I'm curious how you tackle this.

I’ve crafted two short surveys, one for those of you who have – or have had – accountability partners, and another for those who have not. Each survey is designed to take less than 5 minutes to complete. I’d truly appreciate your taking the time to complete the survey that best describes your situation (e.g. complete the first survey if you have (or have had) an accountability partner; complete the second survey if you have not).

In the coming weeks, I’ll share the results of this survey with you. For the results to be meaningful, I need a strong response rate. Please take a moment now to complete the survey.

While I’ve got your attention, I thought I’d share another way to engage with me. I’ve been thrilled to have been part of Chatter Social's private beta. This is a cutting-edge audio/video social platform. I’ll be hosting several channels on the site including From SORE to SOAR where we’ll talk about professional development, and The Leader’s Laboratory where we’ll have real conversations about real issues leaders face. If you’d like an invitation to the platform while it is in public beta, please reach out to me directly by replying to this note.

With gratitude,

Lisa
